Flying Cross Salutes the Law Enforcement Community
This week Flying Cross honors law enforcement professionals everywhere for their dedication, sacrifice, and tireless work serving our communities.
Every May, we honor National Police Week. This pays special recognition to law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. National Police Week was established by President Kennedy in 1962. It is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring those who protect and serve.
Each year, 25,000 to 40,000 attendees attend the Police Week events in Washington D.C. These attendees come from all over the country to support this cause. Among these events is the annual Candlelight Vigil, remembering the hundreds of officers each year who gave the ultimate sacrifice. The names are read aloud at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. 2023 marks the 35th Annual Candlelight Vigil.
This year, Flying Cross is proud to sponsor the Steve Young National Honor Guard Exhibition and tribute. This provides law enforcement agencies an opportunity to perform ceremonious tributes for the public. Participating teams are from all over the nation, honoring fallen officers and their families.
We are proud to be a part of the everyday lives of these brave men and women. Not only to help them perform at their best, but the relationships we have built with countless officers. Flying Cross would like to honor National Police Week by giving 10% of our proceeds on FlyingCross.com to the Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). This organization helps rebuild the lives of survivors and co-workers affected by line-of-duty deaths.
